The Huawei Mate 40 Pro would have a total of 8 photo sensors, a patent reveals. The smartphone would be equipped with a five-fold photo sensor at the back and a triple module on the front. Discover the first information available on the mate 30 Pro's successor.
Huawei has filed the patent for a new smartphone with the German Patent and Trademark Office, report our colleagues at 91Mobiles. Given the timing of the filing and the design of the terminal, the media believes that it isa future smartphone of the Mate range: the Mate 40 Pro, whose launch is not expected until September 2020. While you are waiting for more information, you are still invited to take this flight in hindsight.

A five-fold Nokia 9 Pureview-style rear photo sensor
The diagrams provided by Huawei describe a smartphone with a total of 8 photo sensors. That's a record. On the back is a camera consisting of 5 sensors arranged in a circular shape. This provision recalls, for example, the Nokia 9 Pureview presented at the MWC 2019, more recently, the OnePlus 7T, or the Mate 30 Pro.
It is not impossible that Huawei decides to reuse this set up at the end of the year by adding a fifth module. In short, the back of the smartphone is not really surprising, especially given Huawei's ambitions in the field of photography.
The front of the smartphone is more atypical. In a wide notch, we can see a total of 3 photo sensors. To our knowledge, this is the first time that a smartphone would have a triple photo sensor on the front. At the moment, we don't know anything about the technical record of these sensors. Of course, you are told more as soon as possible. What do you think of this outbid of photo modules? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.
