Huawei has lifted the lid on the P40 Lite, a new mid-range smartphone. Similar to the Nove 6 SE launched in China, the smartphone is distinguished by its holed LCD screen, its SoC Kirin 810 and a quadruple rear photo sensor arranged in a square. A few weeks before the launch of the P40 and P40 Pro, Huawei launched the P40 Lite on the European market. As expected, the Chinese group is simply recycling the design and technical record of the Nova 6 SE, a mid-range phone available in China since December 2019.

Quadruple rear photo sensor and Huawei Mobile Services
Like the Nova 6 SE, the P40 Lite is covered with a 6.4-inch Full HD LCD display marked with a punch. This cavity hides a 16-megapixel f/2.0 selfie photo sensor. On the back, the firm placed a quadruple photo sensor consisting of a 48-megapixel main module (f/1.8), an ultra wide-angle 8MP sensor (f/2.4), a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) macro module, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor.
The smartphone is powered by a SoC Kirin 810 coupled with 8GB of RAM. The battery life is entrusted to a 4200mAh battery compatible with Huawei's 40W fast charging, the SuperCharge. Note the presence of a fingerprint reader on the slice and a port jack.
On the software side, Huawei has integrated an open source version of Android 10 accompanied by the EMUI 10 overlay. Unsurprisingly, the P40 Lite is not equipped with The Services of Google and the Play Store. Deprived of an Android license, the Chinese firm relies on an alternative to Google's services, Huawei Mobile Services. This solution includes applications such as Huawei Browser, Huawei Cloud, Huawei Wallet, Huawei Video and AppGallery, an app store to replace the Play Store.

The price of the device is 279.99, which positions it as a rival of the Honor 9X (249 euros when it is released), the Redmi Note 8 Pro or the Oppo A9 that we recently tested. Available since March 2 in Spain for pre-order, the P40 Lite arrives in France today. Huawei's colours are black (Midnight Black), green (Crush Green) and pink (Sakura Pink).
