The Nintendo Switch sold about 15 million copies in 2017. In less than a year, it has already done better than the Wii U in five. The incredible success of the hybrid console enabled the Japanese giant to achieve a turnover of 6.4 billion euros in the last nine months of the year, up 175.5% compared to 2016. Better still, its profits even increased fourfold over the period.
The Nintendo Switch is a hit: it sold 14.86 million copies in the whole of 2017, surpassing in just over nine months the figures of the Wii U in five years. And the Japanese manufacturer's targets are even more ambitious as it expects a forecast of 20 million consoles sold in the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

47 million Switch games have also been sold until December 31, 2017. Super Mario Odyssey sold 9.07 million copies, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 7.3 million, Splatoon 2 at 4.91 million and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 6.7 million units. Between them, they account for more than half of the games sold on the console!

Profits in the last three quarters of the year exploded between 2016 and 2017, increasing four-fold.
With the release of its Nintendo Labo and the arrival of the Nintendo Switch Online, the company has not finished capitalizing on its hybrid console. The Kyoto-based firm is targeting revenues of 7.4 billion euros in its fiscal year (April 2017-April 2017), more than the 7.1 billion forecast recently announced. It is aiming for a profit of 1.18 billion euros, while it was aiming "only" at 890 million euros at the latest news. Nintendo's value is estimated at just under 40 billion euros, twice as much as 12 months ago.
