This is a new wave of Apple Intelligence.
Apple Intelligence shook Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June when it launched. That is, a first wave of features is already coming with iOS 18.2 introducing a bigger set of Apple Intelligence features. These are Genmoji, Image Playground, as well as integration with the ChatGPT on Apple’s range of devices.
How can I gain access to Apple Intelligence?
To try all the new AI features, users need to have the compatible device in mind with the current iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 or macOS 15.1. Then, on the Settings app, you can join a simple waitlist, and they generally allow you in within a few hours. A notification is provided so that the consumer can be informed that activation is now possible on the device.
What are the new features?
On writing instruments and new Features to the Photos app, to summary alerts, several Apple Intelligence features will be available for the coming month and more. Here’s what users can expect:
Genmoji: Instead of emojis, people will be able to design avatars, known as Genmoji, by uploading photos of beloved people or by typing a description of the picture.
Image Playground: With this tool, the subject will be able to generate comic images on its own such as doing a character conversion and suggest a new image based on the input given.
ChatGPT Integration: Among the writing tools, this well-known AI tool will be joined with Siri in order to answer the requests. For instance, if you want information on a particular document and you ask Siri, ChatGPT will be able to assist or guide you in case you are lost. As always, Apple prioritizes privacy: the user will always be notified when their data is going to be shared and he or she will decided when the information should be disseminated.
Compatibility of the device with Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence compatibility is mostly limited to newer iPhones, as well as Macs and iPads with Apple’s Apple Silicon M-series chips. These devices include the iPhone 16 and 15 Pro, as well as the iPad Pro: M1 and newer, and the MacBook Air: M1 and newer.
Apple Intelligence language and region support
To use Apple Intelligence on a compatible device, make sure Siri’s language is set to US English. This should work for most parts of the world. Starting in December, English language support will be available for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
