Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Note 20. This year there are a total of three variants, a Galaxy Note 20 4G, a Galaxy Note 20 5G and a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, all with a starting price of 949 euros.

They're finally here! Samsung has just unveiled three variants of its Note 20, all of which will be offered in Europe with Exynos 990, the manufacturer's homemade processors. Samsung is banking on 5G connectivity, but the manufacturer still offers the most compact model in a slightly cheaper 4G version. In addition to the Note 20, Samsung also unveiled a revamped and corrected Galaxy Fold 2, as well as a new Galaxy Watch 3. In wearables, we also have new Galaxy Buds Live headphones.
Overall, these Note 20s take the formula of the Galaxy S20, S20 and Ultra – from the processor to the photo part, to the scrupulously identical screen sizes. If you're looking for something new, you can take some comfort with the new improved stylus and the Mystic Bronze. Among other small cosmetic changes.

The classic Galaxy Note 20 offers a 6.7" AMOLED slab like the S20. But there is a small evolution: the slab is flat,which will delight those who no longer want to hear about curved edges in a smartphone. This innovation has been declining on its high-end devices for several years – without leaving its customers with any choice so far.
Like all devices in the range sold in Europe, the Note 20 features an Exynos 990 (7 nm) processor – the most powerful ever produced by Samsung. This processor is presented as the equivalent of the Snapdragon 865, since it is the latter that equips the American variants of the Note 20.
Alas, Samsung has made two choices for Europe that seem unfortunate to us: first, the manufacturer continues to force European consumers to buy smartphones under Exynos, while the performance of the latter is notoriously lagging behind their Qualcomm Snapdragon counterparts for years.
The other decision that seems clumsy to us is to have opted for the latest Snapdragon chip in the Note 20 sold in the USA. The Americans were already entitled to the Snapdragon 865 on the S20 – they switched to the S865 with the Note 20. Samsung dares to sell the same product in Europe with the same chip as the S20.
It will have to be checked with benchmarks but the performance gap between the US and Europe variants of the Note 20 should be particularly large this year. Let's be sure that Samsung has managed to solve some of the problems of the Exynos 990 encountered by S20 customers, including overheating and performance jamming.

The Note 20 Ultra offers a 6.9" curved screen 120 Hz… just like the S20 Ultra from which it borrows many points from the technical sheet. It has the same processor. The same photo part. Unlike the classic Note 20, it nevertheless carries a microSD port. And it's possible to buy it with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
All this to arrive at the real novelty found on the two variants: the new stylus. The latter achieved a record latency of 9 ms compared to 42 ms on the previous model. Its thin 0.7 mm tip and 4096 pressure levels work together to deliver a "paper sensation". It also has some new gesture features, which allow you to perform actions without touching the smartphone.

One gesture allows you to return to the Home, another allows you to take screenshots. The Galaxy Note 20 comes in three colours Mystic Green, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Grey. The Note 210 Ultra is available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black and Mystic White.
