Galaxy 21 (S30): Samsung has its battery certified bigger than the Galaxy S20…

by Jerry

Samsung has just certified the battery of the Galaxy S21 and S21 (or S30 and S30) with the 3C body. For the basic model, there is no change compared to the Galaxy S20. The Galaxy S21, on the other hand, will have a better battery life than its predecessor.

We are at least 6 months away from the launch of the S21 series, but Samsung is already preparing its next generation of flagships. The manufacturer has just obtained certification for two batteries bearing the references EB-BG991ABY (SM-G991) and EB-BG996ABY (SM-G991) which according to the usual nomenclature correspond to the Galaxy S21 and S21. No information however on the Ultra version which is indeed in the boxes according to the website SamMobile.

The Galaxy S21 will have better battery life

Let's start with the basic model. The Galaxy S20's battery will have a nominal capacity of 3880 mAh, or 4000 mAh in indicative value. Samsung is therefore content with the same capacity as the Galaxy S20. The "Plus" variant as far as it is concerned will have a battery of 4,660 mAh, so 4800 mAh. This information confirms a leak that revealed the size of the Galaxy S21's battery last month.

The battery life of the smartphone will therefore be better compared to the Galaxy S20 which, for the reminder has a battery of 4500 mAh. This allows it to easily last a day and a half under reasonable conditions, including reducing the frequency of refreshment of the screen. With a little optimism, we can expect up to two days of autonomy for the Galaxy 21.

The 3C certification document reveals another interesting piece of information, namely that the two batteries will be manufactured by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd.(CATL) based in Ningde, China. No information has been leaked about the Galaxy S21 Ultra which is not mentioned in the document. Its battery should be produced by another company.

Finally, we know that the S21 series could carry the first 16GB LPDDR5 RAM memory, which was launched a few days ago. According to Samsung, they offer speeds of up to 6.4GB/s, 30% more than 12GB chips. As for the photo part, according to leaker Ice Univerce, Samsung would again bet on a 108MP sensor for the Galaxy S21. The firm would therefore ignore its 150 MP sensor which was announced a few months ago.
