Dynamic Island, one of the novelties of the iPhone 14 Pro, offered a new paradigm to the cutouts to house the front camera on mobile screens. Now, Realme is preparing to launch a smartphone with the feature. This is what points out a photo published by the CEO of the company, Madhav Sheth, on Wednesday (22).
The news came to the fore in a Twitter post, which was taken off the air shortly thereafter. In the publication, the executive said he was loving the Mini Capsule, which will appear on a cell phone line C. Later, there is an image that has a cutout similar to Dynamic Island.
The pill-shaped notch shows that the phone with Realme UI 4.0 is using chinese brand’s fast recharging technology, SuperVOOC. Next to it, there is other information in the status bar, such as the time, in addition to the signal and battery levels.
Sheth did not provide further details about the tool. But, as always in this industry, it didn’t take even 24 hours to roll a leak: on the same day, the SmartPrix, in collaboration with Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), published a demo video of the tool.
According to the anticipated material, the clipping will be flexible. That is, the phone will have a small circular hole, to house the front camera. Upon receiving a notification, a software feature will expand the notch sideways, aggregating a summary of the warning received.
This is the case of the alert to inform that the battery is running out. Soon after the clipping is expanded, the smartphone indicates that the component can only hold 20 minutes away from the outlet. The area is also used to point out that the component is fully reloaded.
Realme’s Dynamic Island takes up less space
This solution is even better than the original, as the Realme notch takes up less screen space – it only grows when there is a new notification. Meanwhile, on the iPhone 14 Pro, the smartphone gets forever with that pill-shaped hole on the display.
On the other hand, it is still unclear whether the Chinese brand solution can be used by third parties and other instances of the operating system. This detail is important because Apple’s solution even offers music controls by Dynamic Island, as noted in the review of iPhone 14 Pro. Third-party apps can also explore the novelty to improve the sending of information to users.
Anyway, Realme really fulfilled her wish. As recalled by 9to5Google in September 2022, a manufacturer’s forum administrator proposed a challenge to the community to suggest a response to Apple’s novelty.
“Can you imagine what would happen if Realme UI added a software trick to turn the camera clipping into a multifunctional feature?” the topic says. “The UI around the camera hole can turn into different shapes and sizes to display incoming phone calls, alerts, notifications, and more.”
