Apple’s Security content for iOS and iPadOS
In what seems to be a new trend, Apple has released new updates in quick succession to fix issues with its recently rolled out iOS 18 and iPad OS 18 that debuted in September. This update is important as it contains some bug fixes and, additionally, crucial security updates.
Security flaws resolved
Security patches are basically about two things. The first is for JavaScriptCore, tagged CVE-2024-44308 and the second is for WebKit which is CVE-2024-44309.
The JavaScriptCore error comprised of handling of presumably unsafe Web content which could in turn result to code execution, this was mainly found on Intel based Mac OS. As for this threat, the company has responded with more controls. Likewise, the WebKit vulnerability effectively utilised nasty Web content to launch cross-site scripting attacks for Intel-based Mac computers as well. This problem was solved in iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 via a security patch through enhanced cookie management.
A recommended update
Any iOS device user with an iPhone is strongly advised to go on with this update. It arrives only weeks after the release of iOS 18.1 dedicated to Apple Intelligence capabilities.
How to lock your iPhone or iPad
While there are no malware scanning apps allowed under Apple’s guidelines, you are not entirely out of luck. With Intego Mac Internet Security X9 or Intego Mac Premium Bundle X9, your Apple devices can be scanned for malware. This software is ranked among the best Mac antivirus programs that can be used today.
However, the one that is most effective is to always download the patcher with updates needed to install for your gadget. Although it may takes some time to do this, taking time to keep your devices update does indeed guard you from hacker attack.
