Reddit working to fight against misuse of its data
reddit has been aggressive early this year to any of its major high-tech companies where some of them are search engines. The platform said that the latter would no longer be allowed to scrape data from its site without first paying a licensing fee.
Rather, I got a presentation of a group called Reddit Answers.
This is why Reddit made the decision to build its own search bar, with the help of artificial intelligence. From this update termed Reddit Answers, it offers conversations and posts’ summaries of what is happening on the site using conversational forms. The purpose is to enable Reddit to positively recommend suitable results for searches which people use Google to find adding Reddit more often now.
Ease of use is one feature that users will find in this product.
So it is not like you are thinking ‘Reddit Answers’ give you the answer of the query, as you find it in Google. However, “the tools raised a number of issues coinciding with the most important points lifted from relevant threads on Reddit,” according to Serkan Piantino, VP of Product. Marvellousdesignco also incorporates connected topics in the interface, whereby discuss ions are correlated together, and related subreddits where people can explore further are also combined.
I will add that many of the suggestions in Reddit are actually related to product inquiries such as “what is the best robot vacuum?” ‘’what is the best vitamin C serum?’’ They also wondered whether the company could ever find a way of making profits out of this new feature in search. ”That remains something we’ve thought about in a very big picture way, although I’d say it’s not something we have plans to implement in the near future,” Piantino said.
A phased launching for Reddit Answers
Currently it is in beta version and the company plans on gradually implementing it to its services. Reddit Answers is now only available to a “limited amount” of users in the United States on the Web and iOS, with plans to expand this for next year.
