iPadOS 16 tends to be one of the stars of WWDC 2022. But while apple’s event day isn’t enough, some news of the iPad operating system has been anticipated, such as changes to the interface to enhance multitasking. That’s what Mark Gurman of Bloomberg points out on Thursday.
The bets revolve around the use of the system. For this year, Apple intends to apply software changes to make the tablet more close to a notebook and a little further away from the iPhone (iOS). The reports come from people aware of the subject who have not been identified.
This key flip will be intended for multitasking, which will have the interface redesigned. According to the journalist, iPadOS 16 should bring options to adjust the size of the windows of the applications. In addition, the update tends to offer new alternatives to using multiple apps at once.
If the rumors materialize, this change can significantly change the current logic. Today, users can use more than one app simultaneously, as long as the screen is split into two instances. In addition, the system allows to place a floating window, but the software does not occupy more than a third of the display.
The publication doesn’t even talk about multi-window support. But I hope Apple will also change the operation of this tool. After all, if I have more than one instance of Safari open, for example, I need to access the dock, press and hold the browser icon, press “All Windows” and then access them.
