The iPhone 14 Pro caught the public’s attention by bringing a pill-shaped hole in place of notch. But Xiaomi will launch a smartphone with the same solution: the Xiaomi Civi 2. In the clipping, the Chinese phone will bring two 32 megapixel cameras, both dedicated for selfies, instead of sensors for Face ID.
The details of the upcoming release were anticipated by Xiaomi itself. In one poster, the Chinese brand revealed the look of the phone, which will have a hole positioned in the center. But instead of focusing only one photo sensor, the phone will have two 32 megapixel cameras on the front, one of which is ultrawide.
The cutout leaves the phone next to the iPhone 14 Pro. To remember, Apple’s new phone abandoned the notch and adopted a hole in the panel. The clipping is complete with Dynamic Island, a technology that unifies hardware and software to present quick information.
Xiaomi, however, has not informed whether it will offer a similar solution. On the other hand, a developer has created a theme for MIUI that offers Dynamic Island-style notifications. Customization, however, displays alerts in the upper-left corner and is more limited to Apple’s feature.
Xiaomi revealed other details ahead of time. This is the case of the triple camera, led by the Sony IMX766 sensor of 50 megapixels. The set even tends to bring one component with ultrawide lens and another to macro or capture depth of field.
The details of the fact sheet are still a mystery. But the phone is expected to be presented with snapdragon 7 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s intermediate processor. The screen and battery information will also be revealed later.
The launch will be presented on September 27 in China. To date, there is no preview of the xiaomi Civi 2’s debut in other countries.
