The latest update of Mastodon is revealed
After almost a year of intense testing of the non-profit social network Mastodon, one of the most significant updates of the year has appeared. In a blog post that Rochko, the inventor and the chief executive of the platform, wrote, the update version 4.3 offers enhancements for all the facets of the social media application.
Major enhancements have been made to Notification.
One of the most important changes relate to the substantial revamping of the notification regime. Now Mastodon groups “boosts” and “favorites” to avoid infesting the timelines when one of yours suddenly becomes popular. Also, new filters have been added to give an ability to mute notifications from users, who do not follow a user back, from recently created profiles, or those who sent a direct message first.
New work environment and ways of interaction
In addition to these changes, Mastodon has restructured some features of its installation. Media has also received a brush up in terms of positioning, compose window has been redesigned to allow users reposition their media and check content warning and word filter options. Concerning the Web Part of the Client, it has been updated; the color scheme, icons, and link previews are new.
The last is the promotion of the appeal of the platform.
‘Our ongoing effort is to make Mastodon easy and enjoyable to use,’ Rochko said. Lack of capital, however, as a small company competing against mammoth corporate monsters, Mastodon has achieved remarkable progress in its looks. These improvements come after some platforms altered the blocking mechanism with an eye of making the block button unappealing to use. Although Rochko does not name anyone in particular, he himself shares the desire of many people to make Mastodon more approachable for commonfolk.
