A new generation of Samsung phones in sight
In general, Samsung has always been an innovator within the smartphone industry. According to a new revelation, a new modification can be expected in the next generation Foldable phones from the tech giant maybe because of complaints about the excessive screen size of the Z Fold series.
There is also some implementation from an exclusive Korean model.
Samsung Foldable series lovers have been let down by the Galaxy Z Fold 6 whose screen size has only marginally been improved from the previous version. Nevertheless, display analyst Ross Young disclosed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may well draw inspirations from one unique device sold only in China and Korea. As for Young, it is said that βThe Fold 7 should have the same screen sizes as the Fold 6 SE. Hence, the Fold 6 SE will virtually turn into the Fold 7.β This would mean an expanded inches of screen, an inner screen of approximately 8 inches and an outer screen of 6. 5 inches.
Improvements needed
Of course, the growth in screen size is a boon, but the company still has to optimise the use of the external display. However, the findings of this research also indicate that many users have found the external screen too thin to hold conveniently, this is especially so if the phone is in a case.
Rumors of a slimmer design
Although upgrading of the screen size is well known, more is rumored about the Z Fold 7. TM Roh is the head of mobiles at Samsung, and he has declared his determination to bring the thickness of the Z Fold 7 to the level of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. As a reminder, the body thickness of Galaxy S24 Ultra is 8.6mm, while the thickness of Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm. That would be a reduction by about half, and it will be quite revealing to understand how Samsung plans to make that happen.
