The PS5 remote control is equipped with several buttons dedicated to streaming services. According to a leak from Brazil, the accessory has a button for Netflix, Disney, YouTube and Spotify on the bottom. Sony has apparently partnered with these platforms.
Last June, Sony lifted the lid on all accessories to accompany the PlayStation 5. Designed as a multimedia platform, the PS5 comes with a remote control to replace the DualSense controller when watching a movie or series. The renderings unveiled by Sony at the online conference showed thepresence of 4 unknown buttons on the lower part of the accessory. Until now, we didn't know the usefulness of these 4 keys.
No Amazon Prime Video button on the PS5 remote?
Each key will allow users to launch a streaming platform, reveal our Brazilian colleagues at TecnoBlog. The PS5 remote appeared in the database of the Anatel, a control agency similar to the FCC in the United States. This database contains several diagrams of the remote control as well as an instruction guide.
At the top left, you'll find a touch dedicated to Disney. Just to the right, you can see a button to launch Netflix, the leader of SVOD in the world. Underneath, a button is reserved for YouTube. Finally, more surprisingly, a button will allow you to launch Spotify, the music streaming service. Like previous PlayStations, the PS5 also lets users listen to their playlists on their TV.
The presence of these buttons for streaming is not a surprise. The remote controls of many TVs and set-top boxes are already equipped with dedicated buttons. It should be noted that Prime Video, Amazon's streaming service, is absent from the remote control. However, the buttons chosen by Sony are likely to change from one country to another depending on the partnerships forged. We'll tell you more about the PS5 as soon as possible.
