The Galaxy Fold 2 is not yet official and rumors are rife about it. This Monday, July 6, 2020, new information about the Galaxy Fold 2 surfaced. We learned that the foldable smartphone could be released after September 2020, with a price posted at more than 2000 euros. And in the middle of the afternoon, the SamMobile website gives us some additional information.
According to reliable sources, Samsung is about to revise the name of the Galaxy Fold 2 for Galaxy Z Fold 2. This rebrandingoperation ( ed. repositioning a brand that usually accompanies a name change) was launched to group all future foldable smartphones of the South Korean firm under the Galaxy Z banner.
A logical choice of the manufacturer
SamMobile's claims corroborate with samsung's previous statements. In February 2020, the company already confirmed that its foldable smartphones would adopt the galaxy Z name, the Z having been chosen because"it intuitively communicates the idea of a foldable smartphone that delivers a young and dynamic feeling".
After the successful launch of the Galaxy Z Flip, it makes sense that the upcoming foldable smartphones adopt this name, especially since Samsung has announced that several foldable smartphones will be born in 2020. After the Galaxy A, Galaxy J, Galaxy S and Galaxy Note, Samsung could add one more category to its already varied catalog, namely the Galaxy Z.
As a reminder, the latest information indicates the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Flip 5G in September 2020 in ultra limited quantities. According to renowned leaker Max Weinbach, production of ultra Thin Glass glass screens covering the two terminals will not begin until August. In addition, production line slowdowns would have forced the manufacturer to postpone launches.
