Several news about the Galaxy Fold 2 surface this Monday, July 6, 2020. In particular, we learn that it could cost more than 2000 euros and have its release delayed after September. The foldable smartphone should be sold with a 25W fast charger.

A leaker who calls himself Ricciolo, a Samsung exit specialist, says on his Twitter account that he has new information about the Galaxy Fold 2. The successor to Samsung's first foldable smartphone, which was sold for around 1,800 euros when it was released, would be sold for more, in excess of 2000 euros. An information that seems to go against the current of Samsung's efforts to bring down the prices of the category. But that could be explained by the difficulties in producing this type of devices and the very active research and development to make it as mature as conventional smartphones.
The other info is that according to Ricciolo, the Galaxy Fold 2 will not be available until the end of September. Samsung should indeed have shifted its production like many companies because of the consequences of the coronavirus crisis. According to Ricciolo the delay would be such that Samsung could postpone the release of the smartphone after September, so probably in October. Samsung may not be the only big name in the industry to have to postpone product launches. Apple, for example, may not launch its iPhone 12 in September either- even though it's traditionally the launch month for iPhones.

The latest information comes from Chinese certification documents taken up by Sam Mobile: we learn that the smartphone will be sold with an "EP-TA800" charger. The technical details of the charger are thus revealed: it can deliver up to 25 W of power (9V to 2.27A or 11V to 2.25A). The first Galaxy Fold was sold with a 15W charger, so this power increase is pretty welcome. The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to carry two 2275 mAh – 2090 mAh batteries with a total capacity of 4365 mAh. The smartphone would also carry a boosted variant of the Snapdragon 865 (perhaps an "865"), and would only be offered in a 5G version.
