Previously, the record was held by Mario Kart Wii with 433,900 copies sold on the first day in the USA. In its press release, Nintendo stated that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's tether rate was 45%. This means that almost one in two Nintendo Switch owners bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the day of its release.
The results in the rest of the world are not yet known, but the trend is expected to follow everywhere. Because, like Zelda: Breath of The Wild, this new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is unanimous. It is the best-selling game in the history of the license because it is also, according to experts, the best Mario Kart ever made.
