The Huawei Mate Xs, the successor to the collapsible Mate X, would be released on the market sometime in March 2020. The smartphone would be equipped with an improved central hinge and a more robust foldable screen. In order to appeal to more consumers, Huawei has reportedly decided to lower the price of its flagship. Check out the latest information available.
Huawei's Mate Xs will hit the market in March 2020, report our Chinese colleagues at MyDrivers. The foldable smartphone will be presented at a conference at the MWC 2020 in Barcelona at the end of February 2020. Unsurprisingly, the Mate Xs would be marketed (probably only in China) a few weeks after its official presentation.

The Mate Xs would be slightly cheaper than the Mate X
Citing sources close to the industry, the media says the Mate Xs is less difficult to produce than the first generation. The group is also said to have been able to drastically increase its production capacity. Under these conditions, Huawei should offer the Mate Xs at a slightly lower price than the Mate X. As a reminder, the Mate X is currently marketed on the Chinese market at a price of 16,999 yuan, or 2400 dollars. Thanks to a new pricing positioning, the brand hopes to attract more buyers. Since its release in November in China, Huawei has already sold nearly 200,000 foldable smartphones.
According to information obtained by MyDrivers, Huawei has made many adjustments to the design and structure of the Mate Xs. In particular, the firm has reworked the hinge that allows the screen to fold. The new version would therefore be more "resistant and stable". In a recent interview, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's mobile division, had already teased the new hinge of Mate Xs. The new mechanism is called "Falcon Wing Hinge Mecanism," Yu revealed.
Even the bell rings on the foldable screen, which would now be more durable, MyDrivers points out. Finally, the foldable smartphone would also be more compact than its predecessor. At the latest news, this new generation would be powered by the SoC Kirin 990 of the Mate 30, would be compatible with the 5G and equipped with a quadruple photo sensor at the back. We'll tell you more about the Mate Xs as soon as possible.
