Huawei just told us a little more about Celia, its home alternative to the Google Assistant. Deprived of Android license and Google services, the Chinese group has urgently developed a home voice assistant. According to the demo video unveiled during the conference, the assistant is already able to speak in French and is about to be deployed in France.
On March 26, 2020, Huawei began by unveiling the Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro before continuing with new software from its Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). Among the most notable new features is Celia, the brand's voice assistant. Already used on the Chinese market, the assistant is about to land in France with the P40.
Celia, the Chinese voice assistant who already speaks French
Named Xiaoyi in China, Celia will soon be available in 6 countries: the Uk, France, Spain, Chile, Mexico and Colombia. In addition to Chinese, the voice assistant now includes three languages: English, French and Spanish. Initially, Celia will be reserved for the P40 range. In a second phase, Huawei will offer the smart assistant on the other phones in its catalog, on PCs, tablets and on the brand's connected speakers, such as the Sound X, the premium speaker developed with Devialet. For now, it is not known whether Celia is intended to replace Google Assistant on Huawei and Honor smartphones that have an Android license.

To activate Celia, you have to pass by a keyword. Huawei soberly chose"Hey Celia". To summon the assistant, you can also hold the P40 power button for a second. Unsurprisingly, features highlighted at the conference include making appointments, adding a reminder, sending an SMS and making a phone call. Using the camera's artificial intelligence, Celia is also able toanalyze the number of calories in a dish. All information is displayed on the smartphone screen in seconds. What do you think of Huawei's voice assistant? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.
