Huawei is about to launch Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), a suite of apps to replace Google Mobile Services (GMS) in Europe. The alternative developed by the Chinese firm is expected to make its debut on the Honor View 30 and View 30 Pro, two smartphones designed by the Honor subsidiary.
Deprived of Android licenses and Google apps since May 2019, Huawei quickly decided to rely on its own alternative to Google Mobile Services. Called Huawei Mobile Services, the suite consists of an alternative to Google Maps developed with TomTom, an email client to replace Gmail and services already known as AppGallery (the nascent alternative to the Play Store). There are also services such as Huawei ID, Huawei Mobile Cloud, Huawei Video, Huawei Themes, Huawei ScreenMagazine and Huawei Browser. Huawei would also integrate its own voice assistant to replace Google Assistant, Celia.
Launch on February 24, 2020 on Honor View 30
Until now, the suite was only available to Chinese users. According to our colleagues at MySmartPrice, HMSs are now preparing to land in Europe. Citing numerous reports from the Chinese press, the media outlet claims that Huawei has finally decided to deploy its suite of applications on the Old Continent. The manufacturer is expected to inaugurate the rollout of its alternative by announcing the release of the Honor View 30 and View 30 Pro on the European market. Unveiled in November in China, both aircraft have remained exclusive to the Chinese market until now.
Huawei and Honor are expected to announce the news at a conference broadcast live on the Internet on February 24, 2020. Despite the cancellation of the MWC 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak, Huawei decided to maintain the event. In the process, the brand should also present the Mate Xs, its second foldable smartphone. Huawei Mobile Services is expected to be rapidly deployed on Huawei Mate 30 Pros sold in the European market. The brand's latest flagship arrived in Europe, and in France, without Google's services last December.

Just in time for the Huawei P40
In a second phase, Huawei is likely to offer HMS on the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro, expected at the end of March 2020. The latest news is that the firm also offers its alternatives to Google's solutions on smartphones that benefit from an Android license. HMS could indeed operate in parallel with the MSGs. We'll tell you more as soon as possible.
