The LG G5 is likely to be announced on 21 February in Barcelona. In the meantime, CAD diagrams of the device have just surfaced and tell us all about its design and dimensions.

A few days ago, we could read that the LG G5 would offer a removable battery and a brand new unibody metal design. Today, one of the sources of the American website Android Authority has managed to get hold of one of the diagrams of the device. A diagram detailed enough to say a lot about its design. We even know the presumed dimensions of the beast.
According to the latest rumors, LG seems determined to make a major shift, in terms of design. With dimensions of 149.4 x 73.9 x 8.2 mm versus 148.9 x 76.1 x 6.3-9.8 mm for the G4, the LG G5 would be slightly larger but above all narrower and thinner than its predecessor and would have a better optimized screen size ratio. On the diagrams, the side screen borders seem to be non-existent.
The volume control buttons actually appear to have been moved to the edge of the phone, while below the photo sensor is the power button, which now houses a fingerprint reader. It should be noted that the diagram is reminiscent of the one published last week by CNET Korea and which unveiled a semi-modular design and a removable battery.
While LG was initially expected to scale back the screen dimensions of its flagship to a 5.3-inch diagonal, it will obviously not be for this year. Android Authority now evokes a 5.6-inch screen compared to 5.5 inches the previous two years. A slab that would still be of QHD definition, LG is obviously not ready to go to the 4K.
