The Huawei P40 Pro continues to reveal itself. A leak has indeed lifted the veil on the technical sheet of its five-fold photo sensor. According to a well-known leaker, the smartphone would be equipped with a 52-megapixel main module provided by Sony. We take stock of the latest information available.
In a tweet published on March 6, 2020, the Chinese informant Teme published the entire technical sheet of the camera of the Huawei P40 Pro. It would be a camera composed of 5 photo sensors. As a reminder, Teme has often aimed just regarding Huawei-stamped smartphones.
The camera would consist of a 52-megapixel (1/1.28-1.22-m) main photo sensor, the Sony IMX700. To support this module, Huawei would integrate a second 40-megapixel wide-angle sensor, the Sony IMX650. Finally, there would also be a telefoto sensor accompanied by a 3x optical zoom,a periscope module with 10x optical zoom,and a ToF sensor dedicated to depth of field.
Unsurprisingly, the set up is completed with an LED flash. With this impressive camera, the Huawei P40 Pro will try to compete with Samsung's Galaxy S20 Ultra, the latest photophone released on the market.

A camera reserved for the P40 Premium Premium Edition?
According to previous leaks, the five-fold photo sensor would be reserved for the Premium Edition variant of the Huawei P40 Pro, a special high-end ceramic edition sold at a high price. The standard Pro variant should be content with 4 sensors on the back. Similarly, the Premium edition would be entitled to a better fast reload.
