The iPhone 15 is expected to arrive in September, but some leaks already give an idea of what Apple’s new line of smartphones will look like. The latest information shows changes to the front camera cutout, edges, and silent mode button.
The source of this information is a South Korean leaker, who uses the username yeux1122. He posted photos of a series of mockups of the iPhone 15 line. They are “fake” devices, which do not work, and serve only to present the design of the products.
The iPhone 15 Pro should have titanium bezel, which gives a brighter look to the sides of the device. The edges of the screen are also thinner, and the corners of the smartphone look more rounded.
In addition, the silent mode switch gave way to a simple button. Apparently, it will have customizable function.
The handset also has a thicker thickness than the iPhone 14 Pro. Thus, the cameras look less bulging than those of the current model.
Finally, as expected, the iPhone 15 Pro and the other models in the line will have USB-C port in place of the Lightning. The change is a way to comply with new rules imposed by the European Union, which wants to standardize cell phone chargers.
Previous information also points out that the iPhone 15 Pro may have a periscope zoom camera, with 6x approximation. In addition, the smartphone must have the A17 Bionic chip, made with the 3 nm lithography process.
iPhone 15 will have Dynamic Island
Another leak brings more information about the standard iPhone 15. Leaker Ice Universe shared images of the glass of the new family’s screens, as well as screen films.
According to the photos, the iPhone 15 will gain a design element from the Pro model: the front camera now sits in a pill-shaped cutout on the screen. With this, the model should receive Dynamic Island, as Apple calls the feature of displaying quick information at the top of the screen.
The iPhone 15 is also expected to get the iPhone 14 Pro’s 48-megapixel camera. On the other hand, Apple’s newest chip should not equip the handset, and the 120 Hz screen should remain restricted to the most expensive model.
