Ps5 will present its games on Thursday, June 11 at 10 p.m. (French time). While the console will theoretically be able to display 4K to 60 FPS, Sony announces that the virtual conference will be content with a broadcast in 1080p and 30 FPS for technical reasons.
Sony is about to lift the veil on the first PS5 games. The presentation conference of the console, scheduled for Thursday, June 11, will be broadcast live on Youtube. Nevertheless, some concessions will have to be made, since Sony warned that the video would be limited in definition 1920 x 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second.
Such a choice raises questions, especially when we know that the PS5 could theoretically display its games in 4K and 60 frames per second. But Sony says it has had to make concessions because of the current coronavirus pandemic on the planet:
This format facilitated the production process of the event for a period that forced a large part of our team and many developers to work from home.
So the games presented on Thursday will be even more beautiful and fluid when you launch them on your PS5. No doubt the developers will put some time the game sequences in 4K on their own Youtube channel, in order to see what the console has in the belly.
Bring a helmet
Sony also warns that you will need a headset to watch the conference. This is not an obligation, but the company is indeed betting a lot on the audio aspect of the console, especially with the Tempest Engine, which promises a better distribution of the sound effects in play.
