Galaxy Fold 2: 120 Hz 7.7" foldable screen and 12MP photo sensor, here are the latest info…

The Galaxy Fold 2 continues to reveal all its secrets. Several weeks before the launch, a leak from South Korea has lifted the veil on the technical sheet of Samsung's new foldable smartphone. As expected, it would be built around a 7.7-inch foldable 120 Hz display and would have a 12-megapixel main photo sensor. Unfortunately, the manufacturer would not integrate the 108-megapixel module of the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

A new report from ETNews looks back at the alleged galaxy Fold 2. According to media reports, the terminal is covered witha 7.7-inch foldable screen. Unsurprisingly, Samsung is banking on an ultra-thin glass screen similar to the Galaxy Z Flip, its foldable clamshell phone. The slab inherits the 120 Hz refresh frequency of the Galaxy S20, S20 and S20 Ultra.

Samsung would skip the Galaxy S20 Ultra's 108-megapixel photo sensor

On the back, Samsung would bet on a 6.23-inch AMOLED secondary screen. As a reminder, the first generation of Galaxy Fold had to settle for a 4.58-inch external screen, much to the chagrin of users. As you were told in our test, this slab dedicated to contextual information was far too small. On this side, Samsung is therefore listening to its users. On the edge of the device is a fingerprint reader. No biometric scanner under the screen this year. The battery life would be entrusted to a two batteries with a total of 4365 mAh compatible with 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging and 15W reverse wireless charging.

On the photography side, the Galaxy Fold 2 looks closer to the standard Galaxy S20 than the higher-end version, the Galaxy S20 Ultra. According to ETNews, Samsung is banking on a triple back photo sensor consisting of a 12-megapixel wide-angle main module. This lens comes with a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. Contrary to the first rumors that appeared on the web, Samsung would therefore ignore the 108 megapixel photo sensor that equips the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the future Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Last I heard, Samsung has reportedly decided to postpone the launch of the Galaxy Fold 2 until the end of September. However, the manufacturer will unveil a teaser at the Unpacked conference on August 5th. We'll tell you more as soon as possible.
