The Galaxy Z Fold 2 stands out in a benchmark that appeared on Geekbench. Hours before the Unpacked conference, this new leak confirms several points of the technical sheet and reveals the performance of Samsung's foldable smartphone.

The benchmark of a smartphone codenamed "SM-F916N" appeared in the Geekbench database. As always, the presence of an "F" in the code name confirms the presence of a foldable screen. Based on the fact sheet, it's likely the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung's third foldable smartphone.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 crushes Surface Duo in benchmark
As expected, the foldable smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's SoC Snapdragon 865 coupled with 12GB of RAM. Samsung is betting on a Snapdragon chipset in all markets. No SoC Exynos for models sold in Europe. Samsung had already overlooked the Exynos chips with the first Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 marketed in Europe still rely on SoC Exynos.
Thanks to its solid technical record, the Z Fold 2 climbs to 969 in single core and 3196 in multicore. The smartphone delivers performance similar to that of devices powered by the Snapdragon 865. Unsurprisingly, it is more powerful than its predecessor (which was content with a Snapdragon 855), the Galaxy Fold. Samsung's first foldable smartphone has 2,663 multi-core points. The Z Fold 2 also surpasses the Galaxy Z Flip 4G LTE, the clamshell smartphone does not exceed 2,685 points in multi-core. Finally, the foldable smartphone also crushes the Surface Duo. With its Snapdragon 855, Microsoft's dual-screen smartphone doesn't exceed 762 single core points and 2,867 multi-core points.
