Launched by Itaú in August 2020, the iPhone Forever program was met with some mistrust at the time —how about buying an Apple device at 21 times plus a final payment? But the idea worked: more than 100,000 iPhones were sold in Brazil through the initiative.
The information comes from the latest financial report released by Allied, a company specializing in distribution services, physical retail and digital retail.
In the area of digital retail, Allied is itaú’s partner in the iPhone Forever. Basically, the company takes care of the entire online operation of the program, which is why it closely monitors the sales made there.
Corresponding to the last quarter of last year, Allied’s most recent financial report indicates that, from the beginning of the program to the end of 2021, the iPhone Forever had sold more than 100,000 handsets to Itaú customers, especially the iPhone 13 models.
Although Allied did not detail the figures, the company says that in the month of launch of the iPhone 13, there was a significant increase in the number of orders for units in the line compared to the month of launch of the iPhone 12.
There are plans for more: Allied claims that its recertified products area was structured in 2021 and is therefore ready to receive units of this category within the program, which should happen from May.
In time, a recertified product is one that, after being shipped for sales, returns to the factory or supplier; after the issue that caused the return is resolved (such as a packaging violation or when the previous buyer regrets the purchase), the item is recertified to go back to the shelves.
How does iPhone Forever work?
the iPhone Forever is a program that allows the financed purchase of an iPhone by customers of Itaú, Itaucard or Credicard cards.
The acquisition is made by means of a installment in 21 times followed by a final payment in the 23rd month after purchase. If the buyer makes this payment, which corresponds to 30% of the value of the iPhone, the device becomes his.
But there are two other options: do not pay the 30% and return the device to the bank; do not pay the 30% and exchange the unit for a new iPhone and with that, start a new payment cycle with 21 installments.
Currently, the following phones are available in the program:
iPhone 13
iPhone 13 Mini
iPhone 3 Pro
iPhone 13 Pro Max
iPhone 12
iPhone 12 Mini
iPhone SE
iPhone 11
iPhone 11 Pro
