The DualSense, the controller of the PS5 would have a battery life 3 to 4 hours longer than that of the current DualShock 4. A Reddit user managed to take control of the new controller and reveals several interesting details.
It's been several months since Sony unveiled the DualSense with its new flagship features. However, the complete technical record of the controller is still waiting when we already know almost everything about the PS5. A redditeur who has obviously managed to take control of the DualSense has just delivered the first information on its battery.
DualSense: Sony would have managed to extend battery life by about 4 hours
The DualShock 4 doesn't particularly shine with its range. This varies between 5 and 6 hours, or even a little more depending on the games. According to the viper_on_fire leaker, the PS5 controller has much better endurance. It would indeed last 3 to 4 more hours. If the information turns out to be correct, the DualSense's autonomy could be close to 10 hours. Not really terrible in itself.
One would expect better knowing that the controller is devoid of the imposing light bar of the DualShock 4 which is often accused of speeding up the discharge. And for comparison, the current Xbox One Controller offers up to 30 hours of battery life.

We learn that the directional cross and the four main action buttons would offer the same sensations as before. The L1 and R1 triggers would easily contract unlike the L2 and R2, which work fully as adaptive triggers as announced by Sony. They offer more resistance and allow the player to feel a certain tension for more realism.
The opinion of the anonymous tester is the same as that of journalist Geoff Keighley who made a first takeover of the DualSense last month in collaboration with Sony. The new DualShock is generally more compact, easier to handle and offers a better comfort of use compared to the DualShock 4 to be said farewell soon after 7 years of good and loyal service.
