The Galaxy Z Fold 2 looks cheaper than the first generation of foldable smartphone. A few days before the official presentation, Samsung mistakenly revealed the starting price of the flagship for the UK market.
Max Weinbach, renowned informant and editor at XDA Developers, found on Samsung UK's official website the price and release date of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. "The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will cost £1799.00 in the UK. Samsung's pre-order page is already online and confirms the shipping date of September 17 and the September 18 release," the leaker explained on his Twitter account. Since then, the page mentioned by Max Weinbach has been removed from the website. Samsung has obviously put the pre-order page online by mistake.

Galaxy Z Fold 2: Samsung lowers prices in Europe
According to the leak, Samsung will offer the Galaxy Z Fold 2 at a lower price than the first Galaxy Fold. In the United Kingdom, the first generation was in fact marketed at 1900 pounds sterling. So we're talking abouta 100-euro drop for British consumers.
Roland Quandt, a journalist at Winfuture, agrees. According to him, Samsung will launch the foldable smartphone at a starting price of 1999 euros in most European countries. Of course, rates can vary from country to country by about ten euros, especially depending on local taxes. In France, you can expect a price below 2000 euros. As a reminder, the first Galaxy Fold of the name was sold at 2020 euros on the French market.
To reduce the starting price of this new generation, Samsung would have initially decided to include less internal storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is content with 256GB of storage,compared to 512GB for the first Fold. In the same vein, the manufacturer relies on 5 photo sensors instead of 6 and no longer includes Galaxy Buds wireless headphones in the box.
