Microsoft has already taken care of several native Windows 11 programs. Now it’s the turn of Sound Recorder: the company announced an update to the operating system recording application on Tuesday (10). Among the novelties are the remodeled look and an option to save the files in other formats.
The update was announced on the Windows blog. According to Microsoft, the app gained “a beautiful new audio preview during recording and playback”. In addition, the program has been adapted to the design of the successor of Windows 10, with the right to windows with rounded corners.
But there are other news. The company reported that the app has gained support for a setting to change the recording device. The user can also choose the following file format options, as revealed by an XDA-Developers screenshot:
The application also allows you to select the audio quality. And if you use dark mode, you don’t have to worry, because Sound Recorder supports dark mode. But you need to be aware of an important change: the new Sound Recorder will replace voice recorder.
The update began to be released on Tuesday (10) to participants of the Dev Channel of Windows Insiders.
Microsoft took advantage of the publication to recall other apps that have received a deal in recent times. This is the case of Paint, which has become integrated into the visual language of Windows 11, for example. Notepad also gained design changes and became compatible with dark mode.
Updates also reached the Media Player, which gained a new face. Microsoft has also put together apps to take prints and edit screenshots in a single program: the Crop Tool. “Taking a screenshot is super easy using the Win + Shift + S keyboard shortcut,” they said.
Other programs have received updates, such as The Clock, Calculator, and Photos. But it is important to note that it is not all the news that is available to the general public.
