PS5: Gran Turismo 7 will benefit 100% of the new console promises Sony

by Jerry

The PS5 marks the arrival of many major new features for players: reduced loading times to the bare minimum, 3D audio for better immersion, and a DualSense controller equipped with a new vibration engine. Sony also promises that Gran Turismo 7, one of the exclusive games of the PlayStation 5, will exploit 100% all the new features of the next gen console. Here's how.

Simon Rutter, Sony's Executive Vice President in Europe, used an interview with our colleagues at the Guardian to discuss the PS5's exclusive games. During the exchange, the frame focused at length on the case of Gran Turismo 7, Polyphony Digital's simulation and motor racing game.

How will Gran Turismo 7 exploit the technologies embedded in the PS5?

According to him, the game will make the most of the new technologies integrated into the PlayStation 5. "Gran Turismo 7 will benefit from almost all the technological improvements we have in the PS5" promises Simon Rutter. Like most of the titles offered with the console, Gran Turismo 7 will enjoy limited loading time. "The loading times will be about zero compared to what they have been in the past," the official said. Thanks to the integration of the 825GB SSD, Sony is banking on an average loading time of less than one second.

"Sitting in the cockpit, the 3D audio will allow you to hear the thunderous roar of a Ferrari behind or in front of you, and you will be able to recognize the difference between that and the sound of a Maserati's engine" continues Simon Rutter. To improve immersion, Sony has equipped its home console witha dedicated 3D audio engine. 3D audio promises to make the player feel the movement of sounds and to image them more in the game environment. For a better experience, the manufacturer will even market a 3D gaming headset, the 3D Pulse.

Gran Turismo will also benefit from dualSense's haptic comeback

Finally, the game will also make the most of the technologies embedded in the DualSense controller. "By driving the car using the DualSense controller, you will have different sensations in your hands between smooth, undulating tarmacs, compared to the gritty feel on a gravel track. Pressing an accelerator gently will be very different than pressing on a rigid brake pedal" the frame says. The controller of the PS5 is indeed equipped witha vibration engine designed with the firm Immersion. This engine offers a more accurate haptic return than the PS4 DualShock. The player may even "feel" the effects of rain, for example.

For now, Sony has not yet revealed the release date of Gran Turismo on PS5. We can expect a store arrival sometime next year. What do you think of Sony's promises and the new features included in the console? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments below.
